Pakistan’s Foreign Office has reaffirmed its position following an Indian statement on the recent terrorist attack in Balochistan.
Officials emphasized the need to eliminate terrorist freedom on Afghan soil while maintaining constructive relations with Afghanistan.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated during a weekly briefing that the Indian Foreign Ministry’s remarks “confirm Pakistan’s stance” regarding cross-border terrorism.
He emphasized that Pakistan seeks to end the freedom enjoyed by terrorists operating from Afghan soil and urged Afghanistan to prevent its territory from being used against other countries. The spokesperson clarified that Islamabad does not wish to damage its relations with the Afghan people.
Concerns about India-Israel ties
The spokesperson also highlighted ongoing concerns regarding India’s growing relations with Israel. While details were not elaborated, Pakistan remains attentive to developments in the region affecting stability and security.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia. He will discuss issues concerning Palestine, Gaza, and Israeli measures in Jeddah.
From February 26 to 28, he is scheduled to attend an extraordinary meeting of the OIC Executive Committee. The meeting will address Israel’s recent illegal actions, including the expansion of Jewish settlements and imposition of sovereignty over the occupied West Bank. Pakistan’s official position will be articulated by Ishaq Dar during these discussions.
