Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the United Arab Emirates has assured Pakistan of the rollover of $2 billion in deposits.
Speaking informally to journalists, he said discussions with the UAE government regarding the rollover remain under way.
Dar said the forthcoming rollover would carry a longer tenure than previous arrangements.

Separately, few days back, State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jameel Ahmad has said that there is no issue regarding the rollover of two billion dollars from the United Arab Emirates, and that dollar deposits from friendly countries will continue to be rolled over until September 2027.
During a meeting with senior journalists at the State Bank head office in Karachi, Governor Jameel Ahmad said that Pakistan has already paid 6 billion dollars in external debt and interest, and that complete arrangements are in place to pay another 4.5 billion dollars during the remaining months of the current year.
