The war of words between Iran and the United States has intensified after former US president Donald Trump claimed that 32,000 people were killed.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has asked Trump to present evidence in support of his claim of 32,000 deaths.
Araghchi sent a message to Washington, stating that if there is doubt over the figures, proof should be produced. He said the Iranian government has already provided a complete list of all affected persons with full transparency.
Iran has claimed that the list includes 3,117 civilians and 200 security personnel.
It may be recalled that Mr Trump had accused Iran of killing thousands during the January protests and had expressed fears that more than 800 people could be executed.
According to foreign media reports, tensions between Tehran and Washington persist over human rights issues.
