During his visit to China, Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister held high-level meetings in Beijing. Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the protection of Chinese citizens and joint projects is Pakistan’s top priority, and a special protection unit is being established to this end.
In a meeting with China’s Minister of Public Security, both sides agreed to make the joint and rapid response system against terrorism and crime more effective.
Mohsin Naqvi visited the headquarters of the Chinese Ministry of Public Security in Beijing and held a three-and-a-half-hour meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Zhaohong. The discussion focused on Pakistan-China bilateral relations, counter-terrorism, internal security, and police cooperation.
The federal minister emphasized that the safety of Chinese citizens and joint projects remains Pakistan’s foremost priority. He noted that strong security measures have been implemented at all levels and that a special protection unit is being set up in Islamabad. He also expressed Pakistan’s interest in receiving support from Chinese institutions to enhance the capacity of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency.
The two sides agreed to increase cooperation in counter-terrorism, police training exchange programs, and other areas of mutual interest. They also decided to hold joint working group meetings every three months and annual meetings at the interior minister level.
The Chinese minister expressed satisfaction with the measures taken to protect Chinese citizens and projects in Pakistan, thanked Mohsin Naqvi and his team, and appreciated Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
