Pakistan won the Under-19 One-Day tri-nation series after a nine-wicket victory over hosts Zimbabwe in the final on Tuesday.
Set a target of 158, Pakistan reached the total in 16.2 overs, with one wicket down. Sameer Minhas scored an unbeaten 114, including 17 fours and five sixes. Mohammad Shayan added 38.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and asked Zimbabwe to bat.
The hosts were dismissed for 158 in 44.4 overs.
Michael Blignaut scored 60, while Tatenda Chimugoro remained unbeaten on 28. Benny Zuze made 16 and Leeroy Chiwaula 15. The remaining seven batters did not reach double figures.
Umar Zaib took four wickets, Abdul Subhan claimed two, and Mohammad Siyam, Daniyal Ali Khan and Ahmed Hussain took one each.
PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi congratulated the Pakistan Under-19 side on their series win in Zimbabwe.
In a message on social media platform X, he said the team raised the nation’s pride through hard work, commitment and skill.
He praised Sameer Minhas for his batting and also acknowledged captain Farhan Yousaf, the players and the management for their combined effort.
“Keep shining, young Shaheens, and make the country proud in the upcoming Under-19 World Cup,” Mohsin Naqvi said.
