Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government would provide laptops and bikes to over 100,000 students.
She addressed participants of the National Workshop from Balochistan, expressing her delight in meeting them and welcoming students from the province as guests.
The CM emphasized that the doors of Punjab are always open to people from other provinces and highlighted that children from across Pakistan are receiving education in Punjab’s institutions.
Maryam Nawaz said that the youth are the future of the country and stressed that politics is about serving the people.
She reaffirmed her commitment to serving citizens without discrimination, noting that the culture of favoritism in Punjab has been eliminated and public funds are being spent transparently for the benefit of the people. She stated that appointments in Punjab are now being made strictly on merit.
Addressing financial and security matters, the CM clarified that Punjab does not receive excessive funds and highlighted special initiatives to reduce crime. She stressed the priority of providing a safe environment for women and noted the expansion of the Safe City program across the province.
She further mentioned housing initiatives for the underprivileged, with 125,000 homes being constructed and free medicines being delivered to people’s doorsteps. The plan is to provide 500,000 homes within five years.
Maryam Nawaz also highlighted healthcare and infrastructure achievements, including the establishment of a state-of-the-art hospital in Sargodha, global recognition for the “Suthra Punjab” program, electric buses operating in Lahore, uninterrupted air quality despite smog, Rs20 fares for Green Buses, citywide free Wi-Fi in Lahore, and the construction of bus stations throughout Punjab. She added that before the end of her term, every district will have a cardiac hospital.
Regarding special-needs children, she stated that 30,000 surgeries have been conducted and centers of excellence are being established in every city. She mentioned that 20,000 kilometers of roads are being constructed across Punjab and promised that drainage problems in cities will be resolved within a year.
Additionally, Punjab has launched air ambulances, the ‘Honhar Scholarship Program’ for gifted students who cannot afford fees, and plans to provide another 100,000 children with bicycles and laptops.
