Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned the United States attack on Venezuela and the capture of its president.
According to details, Araghchi spoke by telephone with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yván Gil, during which he strongly criticised the US action. He said the attack was one of the worst examples of terrorism and a direct assault on Venezuela’s sovereignty and security.
The Iranian foreign minister said such actions violated international law and posed a threat to regional stability. He expressed Iran’s solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil thanked his Iranian counterpart for the expression of unity and support. He said Venezuela remained determined to defend its right to self-determination.
Gil said the Venezuelan nation would continue to stand firm in protecting its independence and sovereignty despite external pressure.
