Lahore’s air quality showed marked improvement as the Air Quality Index (AQI) dropped to 110.
According to details on Saturday, higher atmospheric humidity cleared a large portion of harmful smog particles from the air. Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that an increase in wind speed also helped disperse pollutants.
She said anti-smog measures continued effectively under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. "Actions against smoke-emitting vehicles and polluting industries remained under way. Brick kilns were placed under strict monitoring to ensure compliance with environmental laws", Marriyum added.
The Punjab senior minister said continuous monitoring led to clear and measurable improvement in air quality. She advised cautious driving during low visibility and urged patients to use face masks.
Moreover, the Punjab Health Department also issued guidance on precautionary measures during fog.
