Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from Lagoon Hospital in Ikoyi, Nigeria, two days after a tragic car accident claimed the lives of two of his close friends and trainers. Doctors confirmed that Joshua is now clinically fit after sustaining minor injuries.
The accident occurred Monday on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when Joshua’s Lexus SUV collided with a stationary truck. Authorities confirmed that two of Joshua’s aides, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, were killed in the incident.
The Federal Road Safety Corps initially suggested the crash happened “during an overtaking maneuver.” Later, the Ogun State police clarified that a burst tire on Joshua’s vehicle caused the driver to lose control, resulting in the SUV swerving into the stationary truck.
