All banks will remain closed for public transactions on January 1 (Thursday).
According to a notification issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the public dealings will remain suspended on Thursday, January 1, 2026, on account of a bank holiday.
The notification said that all banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks will remain closed to the public on January 1.
However, employees of banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks will attend offices as usual.
