Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a major expansion of its UK operations with the launch of direct flights to London, marking the airline’s return to the British capital after a gap of six years.
According to the announcement, Pakistan International Airlines will operate four weekly flights from Islamabad to London starting March 29. The flights will land at Heathrow Airport, using the airport’s state-of-the-art Terminal 4.
A PIA spokesperson said the London flights are being launched after a long gap of six years, calling the move a significant milestone for the national carrier.
London has historically been PIA’s first international destination and one of its most attractive routes, the spokesperson added.
UK network continues to grow
In addition to the newly announced London service, PIA is already operating three weekly flights to Manchester, strengthening its footprint in the United Kingdom.
The expansion is expected to improve connectivity for passengers travelling between Pakistan and the UK, particularly the Pakistani diaspora.
The resumption of London flights is seen as a positive step for PIA as it looks to rebuild its international network and regain market share on key long-haul routes.
