Security forces killed eight Indian-backed terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan's Kalat district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, the operation was launched after confirmed intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
During the operation, security forces effectively targeted the terrorists’ hideout. An intense exchange of fire followed, resulting in the killing of eight terrorists described by the ISPR as Indian-sponsored and linked to what it termed “Fitna al Hindustan.”
Arms seized from terrorists
The military’s media wing said weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the killed terrorists. According to the statement, the terrorists were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
ISPR said sanitisation operations are ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists. The statement added that the counterterrorism campaign will continue at full pace.
‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ campaign
The operation forms part of the broader counterterrorism vision “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country, the ISPR said.
