Pakistan is celebrating the 149th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah today with national devotion and enthusiasm.
A public holiday has been observed across the country, while special ceremonies and events are being held to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation.
The birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam is being observed across Pakistan with respect and patriotic spirit. A public holiday has been declared nationwide, allowing citizens to participate in commemorative events.
Various official and non-official programs are being organized to honour Quaid-e-Azam’s struggle and leadership. Educational institutions, government offices, and civil organizations have arranged seminars, discussions, and special events.
Change of guards ceremony
A grand ceremony of changing of guards was held at Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum in Karachi. A stately contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a salute at the shrine.
Major General Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry (Hilal-e-Imtiaz) was the chief guest of the ceremony. On the occasion, Pakistan Army cadets formally took over guard duties at Mazar-e-Quaid.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on December 25, 1876, in Karachi. By profession, he was a renowned lawyer and a visionary political leader.

Through principled struggle, determination, and extraordinary leadership, he turned the dream of an independent homeland into reality. His efforts led to the creation of Pakistan despite strong opposition from prominent leaders of the subcontinent.
On the occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Kamran Khan Tesori also paid homage to Quaid-e-Azam. They highlighted the province’s development projects, including a technology park at NED University and the new Treatment Plant Four, while urging national unity for the country’s progress.
Governor Tesori emphasized Sindh’s critical role in national development, advocating for a competitive economy and transparent privatization, including the PIA process. Both leaders highlighted Pakistan’s growing international stature and strategic achievements, citing the nation’s clear stance on extremism, CPEC developments, and restored national confidence.
Faith, unity and discipline
Faith, Unity, and Discipline were the guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam’s life and vision. He envisioned a Pakistan where all citizens enjoy equal rights, justice, and freedom without discrimination.

Tributes from leadership
The Pakistan Armed Forces, including the Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam. They reaffirmed their commitment to his vision of a strong, democratic, independent, and prosperous Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, highlighted Quaid-e-Azam’s teachings of equality, religious harmony, social tolerance, and justice. He said these principles continue to serve as a guiding light for the nation today.
