Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the bidding process for Pakistan International Airlines.
The bidding for the privatisation of 75 per cent shares of the PIA has been completed successfully. On the occasion, PM Shehbaz thanked those involved in the process and congratulated the nation.
The prime minister said the government had pledged to take practical steps towards the privatisation of state-owned enterprises, and that the privatisation of PIA marked a significant milestone in this regard. He said the entire bidding process remained transparent.
He said the privatisation of PIA and other state-owned enterprises would play an important role in strengthening the national economy. He added that this step had helped restore investor confidence, with the successful bidding for PIA serving as clear evidence.
The prime minister said he thanked Almighty Allah that, through the collective efforts of all state institutions, the country’s economy was gradually moving towards stability. He described the efforts of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and other concerned individuals as commendable.
He said the government remained committed to national development, prosperity, and public welfare in partnership with the private sector.
