A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight travelling from Saudi Arabia to Lahore was diverted and made an emergency landing at Dammam Airport due to a technical fault during the flight.
According to PIA sources, more than 350 passengers were on board flight PK-860. When the technical fault emerged mid-air, the captain decided to carry out an emergency landing at Dammam Airport as a safety measure.
Sources said that oxygen masks deployed inside the aircraft during the emergency landing; however, timely action by the crew brought the situation under control. The aircraft landed safely at Dammam Airport and all passengers remained unharmed.
The PIA management said that steps are being taken to facilitate passengers and arrange alternatives, while a technical inspection of the aircraft has begun.
