The Pakistan Navy’s Hangor-class submarine, named Ghazi, was launched at Shuangliu Base in Wuhan, China, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday
The ISPR stated that the submarines under construction in China have now entered the sea trial phase, and following successful trials, they will soon be handed over to Pakistan.
Under the agreement between Pakistan and China, a total of eight Hangor-class submarines are to be acquired - four being built in China and four in Karachi Shipyard through technology transfer.
The ISPR added that these modern submarines are equipped with the latest weapons and sensors, capable of effectively targeting distant objectives. The Hangor-class submarines are expected to play a key role in enhancing the defensive capabilities of the Pakistan Navy.
