Police investigations have revealed chilling details in the double murder case involving a serving DSP, who allegedly took his wife and daughter out for dinner before killing them later the same night.
According to investigators, DSP Usman Haider carried out the murder of his wife and daughter without any assistance. Police say no evidence has been found so far to suggest the involvement of a co-suspect in the crime.
The investigation confirms that the killings stemmed from a dispute over a 10-marla plot.
Police officials stated that on the night of September 25, the suspect took his wife and daughter out of their home for dinner. The family reportedly ate at a restaurant near Lahore airport, according to investigation findings.
After dinner, the suspect drove them away in an official government vehicle.
Murders around 11pm
Investigators say that at around 11pm, DSP Usman Haider killed both his wife and daughter. The murders were carried out using a 9mm pistol, while the vehicle was driven along the Ring Road area.
Police described the sequence of events as deliberate and premeditated.
After committing the murders, the suspect allegedly disposed of the bodies at different locations. Police said the wife’s body was found in Sheikhupura, while the daughter’s body was recovered from Kahna.
The separation of the bodies was part of an attempt to mislead investigators, police believe.
Arrest, DNA test, ongoing recovery efforts
DSP Usman Haider has been taken into custody, and DNA testing has been conducted as part of the investigation. Authorities say forensic evidence supports the findings so far.
Police are continuing efforts to recover the mobile phones of the deceased mother and daughter, as well as the murder weapon, which has not yet been traced.
Officials say the case remains under investigation, but key facts have been established. Police maintain that all available evidence points to the suspect acting alone in the killing of his wife and daughter.
