Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has announced that the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will commence on March 26.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, Naqvi, speaking at the PSL roadshow in New York, said the final will be played on May 3. The deadline for the submission of bids by the two new franchises has been set for December 22.
The auction for the teams was originally scheduled for December 15. Naqvi expressed his determination to make the PSL the number one league in the world. He said: “My vision is to make the PSL the number one league.”
Naqvi added that every possible step would be taken to improve the league. He said substantial investment is being made in cricket development. He also invited investors seeking information to meet PSL CEO Salman Naseer. The entire process of team bidding will be conducted transparently, maintained the PCB chief.
On this occasion, former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja said the PSL is an excellent model for young cricketers. He added that the league tests players’ temperament and provides young cricketers with opportunities to learn from established stars.
