As preparations begin for the revival of Basant in Lahore, the district administration has announced the registration fees and procedures for kite makers, string manufacturers, and kite flying associations.
The district administration has fixed the registration fee for string and kite manufacturers at Rs1,000.
Officials said the decision is part of regulatory measures to ensure safe and organized celebrations during the Basant cultural festival.
Kite flying association fee set
According to the administration, the registration fee for the Kite Flying Association has been fixed at Rs5,000. Authorities said this step aims to formally regulate organized kite flying activities during the festival period.
The district administration clarified that Form A will be used for the registration of kite makers and string manufacturers.

Meanwhile, Form C has been designated for the registration of the Kite Flying Association, officials confirmed.
The Punjab government has given conditional permission to celebrate Basant in Lahore. According to officials, the festival will be observed from February 6 to February 8, subject to compliance with safety and administrative guidelines.

Officials said the release of registration fee details is a key part of broader preparations for Basant in Lahore.
The district administration emphasized that registration of kite makers and related associations is mandatory to ensure a controlled and culturally vibrant celebration of the festival.
The Punjab government has decided to celebrate Basant in Lahore from February 6-8.
Sources said a few days ago that a meeting was held in Lahore under the leadership of Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb. Strict compliance with the law regarding the celebration of Basant in Lahore would be ensured, the decision stated.

Safety rods will be installed on all motorcycles, and preparations for fireworks will take place at designated locations in Lahore, the decision added.
Earlier this month, the Punjab government issued a detailed ordinance to allow the celebration of Basant under strict and regulated conditions, after 25 years.
The Punjab government decided to celebrate the festival in the first week of February, according to official sources. The Home Department prepared recommendations concerning law and order. The legislation, signed by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, marked the revival of a cultural tradition long awaited by many.
