A new educational and research partnership has been established between Pakistan and China, under the Belt and Road Framework with significant agreements concluded between Punjab University and the University of Jinan.
The agreements were signed during an online ceremony at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor of Punjab University, Dr Muhammad Ali, and Professor Dr Du Qing from the University of Jinan. Chinese industrial partner Zhengsai Group and Pakistani Marjan Polymer Industries are also part of the agreement. Both institutions will collaborate in the fields of science, engineering, and technology research.
The agreement also included a programme for the mutual exchange of faculty and students. Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali said that both institutions would undertake joint research on soil erosion, environmental restoration, water conservation, and material preparation.
An International Joint Laboratory will be established for the protection of land and water and environmental restoration. He termed the agreement as a new chapter in Pak-China friendship, encompassing joint projects for sustainable development.
