A Turkish delegation held an important meeting with Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, resulting in agreements to strengthen joint ventures and deepen bilateral cooperation across defence, communications, aerospace, food, automobiles, and manufacturing sectors.
Abdul Aleem Khan warmly welcomed the high-level 15-member delegation from Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasizing the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turkey.
Expanding joint ventures across key sectors
During comprehensive discussions, both sides agreed to promote joint ventures in defence, communications, aerospace, food, and automobiles, modeled after successful European collaborations. The Turkish delegation conveyed strong interest from Turkish companies seeking to invest and partner with Pakistani industries.
The meeting also touched on enhancing cooperation in manufacturing and industrial development, reflecting the growing economic synergy between the two nations.
‘Every Pakistani will stand with his Turkish brother’
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for Turkey, Abdul Aleem Khan stated that if ever needed, “every Pakistani will stand shoulder to shoulder with his Turkish brother.” Participants from the Turkish delegation added that in Turkey, the patriotic song “Jeeve Jeeve Pakistan” is sung with passion — a symbol of the deep emotional bond between the peoples of both countries.
A key point of discussion was the Islamabad–Tehran–Istanbul railway track, an important regional connectivity project. The minister assured full cooperation, highlighting its significance for trade and mobility across three major capitals.
Strong progress in bilateral ties
Abdul Aleem Khan described Pakistan–Turkey relations over the past one and a half years as highly encouraging. He praised Turkish companies for their increasing interest in European-style joint ventures within Pakistan.
The Turkish delegation formally invited the minister to visit Bursa, and proposed expanding business-to-government cooperation to accelerate bilateral trade and investment.
The minister assured the delegation that Pakistan remains fully committed to expanding cooperation in defence and communications -- areas he described as crucial strategic pillars of the bilateral partnership. The meeting concluded with renewed resolve to explore new avenues of collaboration and support economic growth in both nations.
