The Punjab Assembly approved a resolution to ban Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan by a large majority.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, the resolution was presented in the House by Tahir Pervaiz, a member of the Punjab Assembly from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The text of the resolution demanded that Imran Khan and his political party be banned for making statements against the country, spreading propaganda.
It was said that, regardless of any affiliation with political or non‑political groups, action should be taken in accordance with the national law and those responsible should be duly punished.
