Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that a 'criminal' sitting in Adiala Jail cannot be allowed to play with the country’s stability, asserting that no attempt against Pakistan’s dignity, sovereignty or national security will be permitted to succeed.
In a statement, the minister said, “Pakistan comes before all of us because Pakistan is above our ego and politics. If any individual becomes a tool in the hands of enemies to serve personal interests, calling such a person mentally unwell is fully justified.”
Khawaja Asif added that the reaction from the DG ISPR stemmed from the “continuous, hateful and venomous propaganda” being carried out by that same individual and his associates - something unprecedented in Pakistan’s history. He reiterated that the armed forces are the guardians of the country’s ideological and geographical frontiers, and attempts to create division must be condemned.
Earlier, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar also criticized PTI, saying the party had become an instrument of hostile forces. Addressing workers in his Lahore constituency, Tarar said that the PTI founder’s sisters should be ashamed for speaking against the Pakistan Army, adding that PTI aims to weaken Pakistan’s defence.
He further said that during the PTI government, the Kashmir issue and the Palestinian cause were sidelined. “In the last 12 years, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been turned into ruins. PTI was unable to start even a single major project in the province,” he stated.
Tarar added that PTI supporters spread negativity against the armed forces and martyrs on social media, proving that national interest is not their priority - only personal ego.
