The Punjab education minister announced the winter holidays across the province, with all institutions due to close from December 22 to January 10.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said that the schedule would remain fixed. He confirmed that no extension would follow, if smog conditions showed improvement.
He added that the authorities had finalised the decision after a review of the situation across Punjab.
