Two terrorists were killed and two others injured in a heavy exchange of fire with police in DI Khan following a deadly attack on a police mobile earlier in the day.
The confrontation triggered a large-scale search and strike operation, which police say is still underway.
According to a police spokesperson, the encounter began shortly after terrorists targeted a police vehicle. Police units quickly pursued the attackers, leading to prolonged heavy firing between the two sides.
Security forces confirmed that two Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists were killed in the operation, while two others sustained injuries.
Police launch extensive search operation
Following the shootout, police initiated a wide-area search and strike operation across DI Khan to locate any fleeing militants. The spokesperson said multiple teams have been deployed and the area remains cordoned off.

Authorities emphasized that the search operation is ongoing and will continue until all threats are neutralized.
‘Blood of martyred officials avenged immediately’
The police spokesperson said the swift action was taken to avenge the martyred officers who were targeted earlier. He stated that terrorists “will not be forgiven under any circumstances,” reaffirming the force’s commitment to eliminating militant elements.
Police vowed continued action until the region is fully secured.
Earlier, a powerful explosion near a police vehicle in the Paniala area near Dera Ismail Khan left three police personnel, including ASI Gul Alam, martyred.
According to police officials, the explosion occurred close to a patrolling vehicle, causing severe damage and resulting in the martyrdom of ASI Gul Alam, Constable Rafiq, and Constable Sakhi Jan.
Law enforcement swiftly cordoned off the area, while a heavy contingent of police and rescue teams rushed to the site. Authorities have begun collecting evidence as part of an investigation into the attack, which they link to militant elements.
