The Peshawar High Court stopped the collection of fines from motorists on the motorway who travel without an M-Tag.
According to details, the order came from a two-member bench headed by Justice Mohammad Naeem Anwar. During the hearing, counsel for the petitioner informed the court that the National Highway Authority policy also defines distance for tax purposes. He said that, under the policy, an increase occurs after three years.
The bench asked how the recent increase had taken place and directed that the collection of fines from vehicles without an M-Tag must stop. The court sought the toll tax policy from the Director Revenue of the National Highway Authority and adjourned the case until December 12.
