Former captain Babar Azam has set yet another record, becoming the Pakistani player with the most catches in T20 cricket. He broke Fakhar Zaman’s previous record of 57 catches.
Azam claimed three catches in the match against Sri Lanka.
In the final played at the Rawalpindi Stadium, Sri Lanka set Pakistan a target of 115 runs, which the hosts chased down with eight balls to spare.
In pursuit of the target, the Green Shirts made a confident start as Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub put on a 46-run partnership in 7.3 overs. Saim Ayub scored 36, while Sahibzada Farhan made 23 runs. Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 37.
