Pakistan secured a six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the tri-nation T20I series at Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday, powered by Babar Azam’s unbeaten 37 from 34 balls, Saim Ayub’s 36 and incisive bowling from Mohammad Nawaz (3-17) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (3-18).
Sent in to bat, Sri Lanka struggled to build partnerships, collapsing to 114 all out in 19.1 overs. Kamil Mishara top-scored with 59 from 47 deliveries, while Pathum Nissanka made 11 and Kusal Mendis contributed 14. Mohammad Nawaz picked up three wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi also accounted for three wickets, with Abrar Ahmed picked up two wickets.
Saim Ayub and Salman Mirza took a scalp each. Extras added 13 to Sri Lanka’s total.
Pakistan chased the target confidently, reaching 118 for four in 18.4 overs. Saim Ayub provided stability with 36 runs, and Babar Azam guided the innings to completion with his unbeaten 37. Sahibzada Farhan (23) and Salman Agha (14) contributed valuable support. Only Fakhar Zaman (3) fell cheaply in the lower order.
Usman Khan remained unbeaten on 3.
