Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s joint military exercise Al-Battar II has successfully concluded, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
The counterterrorism-focused drills were held from 18 to 26 November and featured participation from the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and the Saudi Armed Forces’ combat teams.
The closing ceremony took place in Tabuk, where the General Officer Commanding SSG was in attendance.
According to ISPR, troops from both countries demonstrated high levels of professional and operational skills, along with strong mutual cooperation. The exercise focused on enhancing joint counterterrorism capabilities, including training in urban warfare and neutralising improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
ISPR added that Al-Battar II further strengthened the deep, historic military ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Alongside training objectives, the drills reinforced the two nations’ shared commitment to regional peace, security, and mutual defence preparedness.
