Jordan’s King Abdullah II was conferred Pakistan’s highest civilian award, the Nishan-i-Pakistan, during a special ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
President Asif Ali Zardari presented the prestigious honour to the Jordanian monarch in recognition of his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and his support for regional peace efforts.
The ceremony began with the national anthems of both countries, setting a dignified tone for the event. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and other prominent civil and military leaders attended the occasion, underscoring the significance of the honour being bestowed.
Field Marshal Asim Munir became a focal point during the ceremony, receiving warm appreciation from attendees for the historic victory achieved in response to Indian aggression. His presence was widely acknowledged and praised throughout the event.
Following the ceremony, a luncheon was hosted in honour of King Abdullah II, further reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to deepening ties with Jordan and celebrating the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
