On International Tolerance Day, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered messages emphasizing unity, peace, and respect for all citizens.
Both leaders underscored Pakistan’s commitment to tolerance and social harmony, while expressing solidarity with the international community.
President Zardari stated that Pakistan is committed to promoting tolerance, peace, and mutual respect. He highlighted that Islam teaches humanity, compassion, and justice, and that the vision of Quaid-e-Azam ensures equal rights for every citizen.
He reaffirmed that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees religious freedom and fundamental rights, and emphasized government efforts to protect minority rights. Key developments include the National Commission for Minorities Rights Bill and the Parliamentary Minorities Caucus, both designed to safeguard the rights of non-Muslim citizens.
The president also called on youth to oppose prejudice and hatred, urging them to spread the message of love, tolerance, and unity, and make Pakistan a symbol of harmony and social cohesion.

Prime Minister Sharif stressed that social stability and harmony are born from tolerance, while intolerance leads to social deterioration.
He urged citizens to adopt positive attitudes, stating that there is no room for extremism or hatred in Pakistan.
He also highlighted that promoting tolerance is essential for the country’s development and lasting peace, underlining the shared responsibility of all citizens in creating a more inclusive society.
