Pakistan and Jordan have reaffirmed their commitment to enhance strategic and economic ties and expand mutually beneficial collaboration at regional and international fora.
According to details, a meeting was held between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and King Abdullah II of Jordan at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Saturday. Discussions focused on deepening bilateral relations and exploring avenues for cooperation in the economy, trade, investment, health, science and technology, education and defence sectors.
The leaders exchanged views on regional security and peace initiatives. Both agreed to enhance coordination among eight Arab Islamic countries working with the United States on the Gaza ceasefire and the Gaza Peace Plan signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
They also expressed a shared stance on post-war Gaza, opposing any forced displacement of Palestinians.
King Abdullah II praised Pakistan’s consistent support for Jordan’s role in regional stability and humanitarian efforts during the Gaza conflict and its aftermath.
The premier welcomed the king’s visit as a testament to the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Jordan and updated him on developments in Afghanistan and India.
King Abdullah II acknowledged Pakistan’s key role in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Both dignitaries witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding in media, culture and education. The Prime Minister hosted a banquet in honour of the King and his delegation.
Pakistan welcomes Jordanian king with verve
According to communique, King Abdullah II was welcomed at the Prime Minister House with the verve.
Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, President Zardari said that the Pakistan-Jordan ties are based on the historical brotherhood, mutual trust and joint values.
Meanwhile, the prime minister will hold the one-on-one meeting with King Abudllah II. Moreover, the meeting between the premier and King Abdullah II will also be held at the delegation level.
The Prime Minister House said that the King Abdullah's II visit to Pakistan will further bolser the brotherly ties between the two countries.
