Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) has officially started oil production from four wells in the Pasakhi Field, Hyderabad, with the latest Pasakhi-14 well yielding an impressive 1,100 barrels per day.
The company successfully employed advanced drilling technologies to enhance production efficiency.
According to the OGDCL spokesperson, the Pasakhi and Pasakhi North D&P blocks are fully owned by OGDCL, which recently completed drilling the Pasakhi-14 well to a depth of 2,183 meters.
For the first time, modern techniques such as RSS, MWD, and Nitrified Mud Systems were used. Additionally, advanced ESP (Electrical Submersible Pump) technology has been installed to ensure better and sustainable production from the well.
The company emphasized that it continues to invest steadily in exploration and development to increase the country’s domestic energy reserves and strengthen Pakistan’s energy security.
Last year, OGDCL commenced oil and gas production at the Kunnar West Well-3 in Hyderabad District, Sindh. The development marked a significant milestone in bolstering Pakistan’s energy sector and ensuring a stable supply of hydrocarbons.
According to OGDCL, the well is producing 3.5 million cubic feet of gas, 30 barrels of condensate, and 3.8 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) daily. With a wellhead flowing pressure of 1,200 PSI, the operation underscores advancements in energy production technology and infrastructure.
