Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Wednesday lauded the Pakistan Army’s bravery and strategy in the recent Wana operation, declaring it a complete success.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, he said that all the terrorists involved in the attack were eliminated and that no casualties were reported among Pakistan’s forces.
“The bravery and strategy of the Pakistan Army in the Wana operation was successful,” Asif stated, confirming that the military’s timely action thwarted a major terrorist plan.
'Enemy wanted to repeat APS tragedy'
The defense minister revealed that the terrorists’ intent was to repeat the history of the APS tragedy, referring to the 2014 Peshawar Army Public School attack that claimed over 140 lives.

“The enemy’s plan was to repeat the history of the APS tragedy once again, but our armed forces have foiled this plan,” Asif said. He emphasized that Pakistan’s military remains on high alert and continues to neutralize threats across the country.
'War is ongoing — pray for our victory'
Calling for national unity and continued public support, Asif urged citizens to pray for the armed forces as they fight to free the country from terrorism.
“The war is going on, and you should pray that our forces will be victorious in it,” he said. “Pray that the army will be victorious and that they will be free from the curse of terrorism.”
His remarks come amid heightened counterterrorism operations in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in South Waziristan, where recent intelligence-based actions have targeted militant hideouts.
During the same media talk, a journalist asked whether PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif would be attending the parliament session today. In response, Khawaja Asif said with a smile, “His seat is here,” hinting that the former prime minister’s participation in parliamentary proceedings remains a possibility.

On Tuesday night, military sources said that all militants involved in the attack on Cadet College Wana were killed. The operation successfully neutralised a suicide bomber and four other attackers, while no student or staff member suffered harm. The college building was cleared due to the risk of landmines.
Earlier, all students and staff at the college were safely rescued. Security sources reported that morale among students and staff remains high, and the operation will continue until the remaining militants were eliminated. The security forces conducted the operation with utmost caution and strategy. The inspector general of Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa South personally supervised the operation at Cadet College Wana.
Security sources stated that on November 10, the Afghan militants rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate. The blast destroyed the gate and damaged nearby buildings. Pakistani Army personnel responded immediately, killing two militants on the spot.
