Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said on Thursday that Pakistan aims to advance the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) from a business perspective.
At a climate financing conference organised by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in Islamabad, the finance minister termed population and climate change as matters of Pakistan’s survival. He indicated that legislation for a Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, established through an ordinance, will be enacted soon.
The finance minister said that successful financing efforts will bring Pakistan $2 billion every year. Aurangzeb said: "A $1.3 billion climate financing agreement with the International Monetary (IMF) has been concluded."
The minister said that the ADB has announced $50 million for Pakistan, adding that a 10-year Country Partnership Framework (CPF) with the World Bank has also been finalised.
