Ajmal, who hails from Faisalabad, expressed his affection for his hometown and said he held no resentment over not being invited to the stadium for the occasion. He urged fans to attend in large numbers, not only to support Pakistan but also to show hospitality towards the visiting South African team.
“Faisalabad is my city. It doesn’t matter if I have not been invited to the stadium,” Ajmal said. “I ask fans to fill the Iqbal Stadium. The people of Faisalabad are warm and passionate people who love cricket. The crowd should support both teams and make this series memorable.”
The former cricketer added that a strong turnout would help ensure Faisalabad continues to host international fixtures in the future. He said his best wishes were with the Pakistan side, hoping they perform well and secure victory in the series.
