Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and United States Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker underlined the importance of a peaceful, stable and secure Afghanistan, and expressed determination to address the challenges arising from it effectively.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, Asif and the US envoy met to discuss bilateral defence cooperation and regional peace. During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in Pakistan–US relations.
The defence minister said that ties between the two countries were based on mutual respect, stability and shared goals of prosperity.
The discussion also covered the situation in Afghanistan.
They agreed to strengthen cooperation in defence and other areas of mutual interest.
