The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested four officers of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), including former Additional Director Sarfaraz Chaudhry, on charges of bribery and misuse of authority.
According to FIA sources, the arrests were made following a case registered on the complaint of Arob Jatoi wife of YouTuber Saadur Rahman- also known as Ducky Bhai. The accused officers are currently in FIA custody and will be presented before the Lahore District Court today.
The First Information Report (FIR) reveals that a total of Rs9 million was allegedly received from YouTuber Ducky’s family as a bribe to secure relief in a case.
The document states that former investigation officer Shoaib Riaz accepted Rs6 million for securing leniency for Ducky, and another Rs3 million for ensuring judicial relief. The money was reportedly received through an intermediary, with Rs5 million handed over to Additional Director Sarfaraz Chaudhry.
Funds allegedly divided among officers
As per the FIR, Shoaib Riaz kept Rs2 million for himself and deposited Rs5 million with a friend. The case further claims that part of the funds was distributed among senior NCIA officers in exchange for favorable actions.
The document also accuses the officers of abuse of authority and corruption, stating that they “misused their official powers for personal financial gain.”
More NCCIA officials named in case
The corruption scandal appears to run deep within the NCIA. According to the report, Deputy Director Operations Usman and Deputy Director Ayaz Khan are also named in the case, along with seven other officials.
The case — registered within the NCIA itself — highlights allegations of systemic corruption, including bribery and authority misuse. Separately, a kidnapping case involving Deputy Director Usman has also been registered in Islamabad, further complicating the ongoing investigation.
The FIA confirmed that the arrested officers will be produced before the Lahore District Court today. Senior lawyer Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq is expected to represent the accused during the proceedings.
Sources added that the investigation may lead to further arrests as the FIA continues to examine the internal corruption network within the NCIA.
