Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo, where both countries agreed to enhance economic, technical and security cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting took place at the Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace. Field Marshal Munir and President El-Sisi discussed the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt.
Field Marshal Munir appreciated the role of the Egyptian leadership in promoting peace and stability in the region. President El-Sisi praised Pakistan’s constructive role in global and Islamic affairs.
Both leaders emphasised the importance of maintaining close contact on matters of mutual strategic interest. They also underlined the significance of promoting people-to-people ties between the two nations.
