The Punjab Police have launched a comprehensive security screening process for high-profile personalities, including the chief minister of Punjab.
The move comes as part of a broader effort to enhance security protocols across the province.
According to officials, the screening of personnel assigned to the chief minister’s security has already begun. In addition to security staff, other personnel associated with the chief minister’s office are also undergoing verification.
Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar said that improving security parameters has become essential due to potential threats posed by banned organizations. He emphasized that every aspect of security arrangements is being reviewed to ensure maximum protection for key government officials and dignitaries.
“The screening process is being carried out meticulously to maintain the highest level of security,” the IG stated. “We are ensuring that all individuals linked to the chief minister’s security detail are thoroughly verified.”
CM's movements remain unaffected
Despite the heightened security measures, Dr Anwar clarified that the chief minister of Punjab continues to travel and perform official duties without fear or danger.
“The chief minister is moving freely and confidently. There is no immediate threat to his safety,” he assured.
