A three-member committee is investigating the alleged suicide of SP Adeel Akbar.
Sources divulged that Akbar had consulted a psychologist twice in recent days. Investigations are ongoing with a wireless operator and driver who were with Akbar at the time of the incident. Akbar’s mobile phone remains locked, and he had tested positive for dengue. Two days before the incident, he also contracted the coronavirus. His request for leave had not been approved.

The committee is headed by DIG Headquarters Haroon Joya, with DIG Operations Jawad Tariq and DIG Law and Order Atiq Tahir also part of the team.
