Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasised the need to complete all development projects at the earliest in the national interest.
He expressed his views after the government laid the foundation stone for the Shaheen Chowk underpass project in Islamabad. The prime minister congratulated Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman and their teams for their dedicated efforts.
The premier said the government would extend full cooperation to ensure the timely and quality completion of all projects. He added that several initiatives were under way to ease traffic pressure in the federal capital and to enhance the city’s beauty.
PM Shehbaz said Islamabad’s charm was increasing through such schemes and that the projects were being executed with high standards to serve the public efficiently. He also said that preparations for the upcoming SCO Conference required hotels and residential developments to accommodate visiting delegations.
Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi said the prime minister was providing special support for projects in Islamabad. He said the city’s beautification was a key priority and that the Shaheen Chowk underpass had been designed with great care.

Naqvi said work would soon begin on 11th Avenue to further improve the traffic flow. He said that Shaheen Chowk on Margalla Road faced heavy traffic pressure, and the new underpass would help resolve congestion in the area.
During a briefing, officials informed the prime minister that special attention would be given to the design and finishing of the project.
