Tremors from an earthquake measuring 5.3 in magnitude were felt in multiple cities across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, the epicentre was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, with a depth of 234 kilometres.
According to reports, the tremors were experienced in Rawalpindi, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Peshawar, Swat, Dir, Malakand, Chitral, Lundi Kotal, Shangla, Gharzi, Charsadda, Battagram, Haripur and surrounding areas.
Preliminary information confirms the magnitude and epicentre are being determined by the seismic centre. No casualties or damage have been reported to date.
Rescue authorities advised residents to observe precautionary measures and remain in safe locations due to the risk of aftershocks.
