The Saudi cabinet welcomed the immediate ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan, in a meeting chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
According to Saudi media, the cabinet reaffirmed its support for regional and international peace efforts. The crown prince briefed the cabinet on his telephone conversation with the French President.
Both leaders agreed on the need to take steps towards a just peace based on the two-state solution. The crown prince also called for action to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people and for the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
