Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir has said that Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan during his address at the 17th Balochistan National Workshop held at General Headquarters (GHQ).
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS called Balochistan a province of highly capable, resilient and patriotic people, and described its citizens as the true asset of the nation, adding that efforts were under way to ensure public welfare through measures aimed at the social and economic development of the province.
He said that Balochistan’s vast economic potential must be utilised for its progress and that the role of youth in the province’s sustainable development was vital. He called on young people to unite on a constructive agenda of progress and stability, rather than political interests.
He also said that sabotage groups, backed by India, were attempting to spread unrest in Balochistan. He made it clear that operations against all terrorist elements were continuing and that the province would be completely rid of terrorism.
He said that Pakistan desired regional peace and stability but warned that any violation of national sovereignty would receive a decisive response.
