The West Indies became the first team in men’s One-Day International cricket to deliver all 50 overs through spin, setting a new record during their match against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
The historic feat took place at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, where the West Indies relied solely on spin bowlers throughout the innings — an unprecedented occurrence in ODI cricket.
Bangladesh scored 213 runs for seven wickets in their 50 overs. All five bowlers used by the West Indies were spinners, a decision influenced by conditions that supported slow bowling.
Before this, the most spin overs bowled in a men's ODI stood at 44, a figure achieved by Sri Lanka in matches against the West Indies in 1996, New Zealand in 1998, and Australia in 2004.
