An open court was held at the office of the DIG Investigation Lahore in line with the vision of the Punjab chief minister.
According to details, DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza heard public complaints in detail and issued instructions on the spot. A significant number of overseas Pakistanis also attended the court.
Among those who appeared were Haider Ali and Imran Ali, who raised concerns related to breach of trust, and Khurshid Bibi and Munir Ahmed, who brought up issues related to abduction cases.
Kaleem Ullah and Abdullah lodged complaints regarding theft cases, while Ali Raza raised a matter concerning dishonoured cheques. Ramsha Tariq appeared in connection with a rape case.
A considerable number of citizens appeared with complaints about the investigation of their respective cases.
The DIG listened to each complaint carefully and issued immediate directions. In certain cases involving investigation-related issues, he directed the AIG Investigation to conduct inquiries.
Some cases with substandard investigations were marked for reassessment by the Change of Investigation Board, and show-cause notices were issued to the relevant investigating officers.
In a few instances, divisional SPs Investigation were ordered to take prompt remedial action. The DIG also contacted these officers by telephone to give instructions regarding the investigation of the respective cases.
Syed Zeeshan Raza said that immediate resolution of public complaints relating to case investigations is underway. He added that protection of life and property of citizens is the foremost priority of the police.
He instructed officers to treat visiting citizens with courtesy and to improve their performance. He further stated that the doors of his office remain open to address public concerns.
