A 70 per cent reduction in air pollution has been recorded in Lahore following the use of smog guns, according to the Environment Department.
According to details surfaced on Saturday, the experiment was carried out in the Kahna area, where the Air Quality Index (AQI) dropped from 666 to 170. A modern scientific environmental monitoring system analysed and verified the results.
The first formal use of anti-smog guns in Kahna showed successful outcomes, with a visible improvement in air quality reported within minutes of operation.
The Punjab Environment Department confirmed that the smog guns had a significant effect on reducing pollution levels. Officials described the results as successful in improving air quality in the region.
The team of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Environmental Protection Force received congratulations for their efforts.
