Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting in Islamabad on the promotion of artificial intelligence (AI).
He said the government works on a priority basis to promote the IT and artificial intelligence sectors, adding that the artificial intelligence will support the development of the country’s economy.
The prime minister added that the implementation of the digital economy will become more effective through artificial intelligence. He urged that the national policy on artificial intelligence be enforced properly and stressed the need to ensure responsible use of AI.
He directed the formation of a steering committee to oversee the promotion and implementation of artificial intelligence. The meeting was informed that an AI advisory panel, comprising experts, is being established to guide implementation. Attendees were also updated on ongoing government measures.
