Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Russia in November to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting.
According to official sources, the SCO Prime Ministers’ Council meeting will take place in Russia and will be attended by heads of government from all member states.
PM Sharif will deliver an address on behalf of Pakistan, focusing on strengthening economic, trade, and investment ties among regional partners.
Focus on energy, trade, and bilateral cooperation
During the visit, bilateral meetings between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Russian leadership are also expected, sources revealed. These discussions will primarily focus on energy cooperation, trade expansion, and investment opportunities between Pakistan and Russia.
Talks will also explore ways to enhance collaboration in agriculture, science, and technology, with both sides expected to discuss long-term partnerships that could benefit their respective economies.
Pakistan has been an active member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which brings together major Eurasian economies including China, Russia, and Central Asian states. Islamabad’s participation in the upcoming meeting is being viewed as part of its broader diplomatic effort to deepen multilateral engagement and strengthen regional partnerships.
